Today we want to introduce you to Terri Beeson.
Q: Tell us a little about yourself.
A: Moved to Redstone Arsenal, AL in 1979 when my father transferred with the U.S. Army. Graduated from S. R. Butler High School and eventually the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). Married (Doug) with two children, Jonathan (attending UAH) and Annie (attending Auburn University).
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: Reading, trying new recipes, binge-watching a TV program
Q: What kind of expertise do you bring to Gray Analytics?
A: Graduate of UAH (BS Management Information Systems, Systems Engineering Certificate) // CompTIA Security+ Certification // Majority of career has been in systems engineering, requirements generation/verification, test planning, test execution and analysis, and formal qualification testing // 28 years working on DoD programs; last 9 years at the Missile Defense Agency on Redstone Arsenal
Q: If you could chat with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and what would you talk about?
A: My Father who passed away at the young age of 73. He died unexpectedly so there wasn’t the chance to have that conversation one would have with a loved one that they would never get to talk to again.
Q: Who inspires you?
A: My mother-in-law, Joy Beeson. She is an accomplished artist, woodworker, and DIY’er (cabinet and furniture builder, seamstress, re-upholsters furniture, works with stained glass, etc.). She does her daily crossword puzzle, is involved in her church, and has a lot more social activities on her calendar then I do.
Q: If you could be anyone for a week, who would it be and why?
A: My mother. She has Alzheimer’s. I want to know what she experiences in her daily life so we can understand her challenges and better assist her.
Q: What’s your best advice for someone related to cybersecurity?
A: Make sure employees are trained in recognizing phishing attempts and how not to respond.
